Encouraging open and honest talk about periods

Fochriw Primary School

We were in Wales on Wednesday 15th November visiting Fochriw Primary School.

We had a great day working with the children here and there was such a positive enthusiasm surrounding the school.  The pupils had very interesting questions, which prompted thoughtful discussions.

The Healthy Schools Officer and her team came along to see what the betty bus was all about and was very impressed! We enjoyed working with them and hope that we get this opportunity in other schools too.

The girls had lots of lovely things to say:

"It's good because I now know I don't need to be embarassed"

"Thank you, this was a brilliant experience. My favourite was the ball pit #girl power # period # the best time ever # little nervous"

The teachers also enjoyed the sessions:

"Fabulous Resource! Thank you for coming to Fochriw!"

"Fantastic approach to the Growing Up Talk. Children were at ease and enjoyed the discussion"

"Fantastic! It's been great to allow the girls to take part in honest, open discussion and let them ask all the questions they have. The staff were brilliant, put the children at ease and answered all their questions :) Great resource"
