Encouraging open and honest talk about periods

Wavertree CofE Primary School

On the 7th September, our betty bus was in Liverpool visiting Wavertree Church of England Primary School.

The students at this school were very engaged with the lessons and excited to be on the bus. Our facilitators said these fantastic pupils approached the workshops with a sense of fun and maturity. There was a great atmosphere in the school!

The teachers enjoyed the day and it's always nice to be able to reinforce what the teachers are telling their children:

"This is a great opportunity for me to tell you girls, that we are here to help and we have everything you might need. You just need to ask us and you can also use the toilet that has the special bin for your period care waste"

The girls said that:

"This was so much fun!"

"Periods are complicated and luckily it doesn't hurt. After this talk I feel more confident about my period"

"Today it was good to learn about my body"
