Encouraging open and honest talk about periods
Over two days The Telegraph Festival of Education brings together the very best of education’s most forward thinking advocates, practitioners of change, policy makers and educators in one of the leading forums for thought leadership, CPD and debate.
Last year over 5000 people were inspired by an array of impressive speakers and got involved with workshops and activities
Appearing this year at #EducationFestival, betty for schools is a free, PSHE curriculum-linked period education programme for teachers of 8-12 year olds. We aim to create a generation of both boys and girls who feel truly at ease talking about periods.
Our online interactive resources have been designed by betty, together with education experts and young people, to encourage open and honest conversations about periods and the way they affect girls.
Schools also have the opportunity to request a visit from the exclusive betty bus, where trained facilitators deliver immersive one hour sessions which help girls deal with their periods and the roller-coaster of emotions that come with them! Whilst the girls are on-board the bus, the boys get to experience a separate workshop focusing on empathy and understanding what girls experience during their period.
Come and say hello and visit our betty bus - we will be to the right hand side of registration as you enter - to discover how betty for schools can support period education in your school.
Psst! Don't forget to look out for our exciting social competition launching next week, exclusively for #EducationFestival attendees.
The betty bus will be at The Telegraph Festival of Education on Thursday 22nd June and Friday 23rd June at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire RG45 7PU.
