Encouraging open and honest talk about periods

betty for schools launches #ActivePeriod campaign

To celebrate Women in Sports week (19-25th June), betty for schools has launched an exciting #ActivePeriod campaign, which aims to challenge myths and issues around women's’ participation in sport during menstruation.

The campaign is championed by Sam Quek MBE, England and Team GB Hockey player and a passionate advocate of the need to overcome taboos when it comes to periods.

We are delighted to share an exclusive video with Sam, who reveals her top tips and advice when exercising during your period. Our aim is to empower girls of all ages to participate in exercise, and to not let the embarassment or taboo of having a period whilst exercising be the thing that holds them back. Make sure you share it with your class (or child if you're a parent!) to continue spreading the #ActivePeriod message.
